I think the main reason she reacted in such a negative way is because you proposed to her with very little knowledge of her as a person. You have skipped a very necessary hurdle in a successful relationship. She doesn't know anything about you so how is she going to accept a proposal from a ear stranger? Give her time before you give her a ring. Only propose when you know so much bout her that you could tell her when her mothers birthday or what makes her cry... those type of thongs.

You have totally freaked her out. As you said, you hardly know her. She is probably thinking something very odd has occured. Doesn't sound like she is even flattered.
Give it all a wide berth my darling. Propose to the right woman at the right time and Bingo! there will be fireworks and magic. This situation is full of tension and embarassment now. Hope you don't have to see her often.x
