I am a size 8 and not technically fat/obese but I am really stocky and have lots of veins and stretch marks. I consider myself very ugly and I am worried about looking shit, especially compared to my friends who are all stunningDoes anyone have any advice on loosing weight and getting my figure into better shape and advice in general on being the odd ugly one out and body confidence because I really want to be confident with the way I look but I just repulse myself everytime I look in the mirror.

I'm sure you look great anyway - concentrate on your good points instead of your bad points, that should make you feel more confident.
Just forget about it - and have a great holiday!!! x x x

One thing I did only recently which really boosted me, and it'll sound silly, but it was to get a spray tan. It fades the marks a bit, and gives you a really healthy glow. OK so I'm not running round in a bikini! but loads of people have asked me if I've been away. Go to a good salon so you get the natural look and not orange. Its something you could practice now and will help to give you a more positive body image. Smile at yourself too:)

TELLULAH has it dead right and as always she hits the nail on the head. Forget the pictures of supermodels in magazines - us men prefer REAL women, not something out of a fashion magazine or an L.S.Lowry painting!
Try asking your 'stunning' friends what they would change about their bodies and looks if they could. I think you could well be surprised at some of their answers. My guess is that not one of them considers herself 'stunning'.

Hi,
Be positive you can do loads. Starving yourself to get even thinner though, is not the answer.
You are a size 8, but you dont say how tall you are. I am only 5"1 and am over weight by 2 dress sizes, a size 12. So I cant see that you weight would be a problem. So if you need to to tone up a bit and dont have much money, going running is a good option. It's free, you get lots of fresh air, drink lots of water, and you will feel great after a couple of weeks.
Your stretch marks can be improved as well, try some vitimin E cream, it's great for fading scars, and my daughter uses it on her stretch marks, and they have faded quite a lot.
Do you have very pale skin? this could be the reason you can see your veins. We all have them, but the colour of your skin will make a difference to how visible they are. Try some body lotion with a self tanner like Johnson's, it will give your skin a glow and is quite cheap. Also not as dangerous as a sun bed.
Most of all darling, get some confidence. We all have different shapes and sizes, your friends are not perfect, you just see them as that because you dont like the way you look at the moment. Your very young and your body will change.
Oh and by the way! not all boys or men, like skinny stick thin women. It's just us silly girls, that are bombarded with magazines, with stick thin women in them. And we are all told this is what we should look like.
Confidence and a lovely personality is the most attractive thing about anyone.
