I'm not sure of his reason for the break-up, but he did indeed break up with you, so you have no choice but to move on. The sooner you pick yourself up and move on, the better off you will be. Don't call, don't e-mail, do not contact him in any way. All this will do is push him away even further and make you seem needy and pathetic. If you must, send one last e-mail to tell him how you feel, and then let it be. I know how you're feeling and it is HORRIBLE, but the only thing you can do to feel better is focus on what was wrong with the relationship. If the past two years have been not-so-great, then the break-up is probably a blessing in disguise. Good luck to you.
