I've already decided what gifts to get him, it's the day itself I'm not sure about. His birthday's a Saturday so he'll be spending all of it with me. He loves ice-skating, whereas I'm not too fond of it - I know he'd really enjoy it, but I'm not sure if it's too obvious a choice. I also thought I'd take him out for lunch - somewhere relatively cheap but nice - there's this chinese place he likes that I was thinking of. Since we can't go back to his, I also thought I'd decorate my room for him and have candles lit etc. and buy him one of his fave movies on DVD and some of his fave drink/ice-cream for us to share whilst watching it. And then, of course, certain activities. ;) What do you think? I know I may seem like I'm answering my own question but I really want this to be special so I guess what I'm asking is is this too cliche and unoriginal an idea?
