Makeup: Keep it minimal and natural. No need to wear an overdramatic smoky eye. Do foundation, blush, neutral eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, and maybe a light lip gloss.

Clothing: Dress accordingly.

-If you're going to a casual movie and a drink at the pub..then opt for dark wash skinny jeans, comfortable flats or a low heel, a cute camisole, with a blazer.

-Nice fancy restaurant, then I would wear either a nice dress with a nice pea coat, or trench, low heels (no sense in prancing around in stilettos you'll want to take off 5 minutes after wearing. (if it's chilly) Or nice black dress pants with an elegant wrap top and nice diamond studs or pearls.

-Be prepared with a compact umbrella in your purse, just in case. Don't want to look like a drowned rat in front of your date.

Last tip I have would be to take a peek in Topshop to see if anything catches your eye.

Just be yourself! Dress in clothes appropriate for the atmosphere (i.e. if you're going to a nice restaurant, you don't want to be wearing jeans and a t-shirt) that also reflect who you are on a regular basis. No need to put on a front for your FWB.
