A age 30-35, * writes:

My dog died 1 and a little more than half a year ago, he ran after a cat on the road and teenagers who were going way to fast hit him. Then I got another dog and since we moved, where we live now we cant have pets so we had to send him back too. They were my favorite and I loved them so much and now I dont have them.

How do I get over this? It has been more than almost 2 years for the first one and over 12 months for the second one. I cry all the time because I miss them so much?

If I were you I would want to make a difference to any animal I could to try and get over the feelings of losing beloved pets.

You can search on the internet or your local phone directory for your nearest animal shelters for homeless/handed in cats and dogs and do some volunteer work.

You could go up on a Sunday and walk some of the dogs and play with them. You know these animals may have lost their owners-some may have had to hand them in like you did with your second dog and you will be able to make a difference in their life until someone re-homes them.

Over here in the UK we have a massive organisation called RSPCA who have loads of animal shelters with cats, dogs and even rabbits and guinea pigs. And when I wasn't able to have a dog I used to go up and walk the dogs. It made me feel so great to be able to cheer up the dogs and I would be sad when they left for new homes but you would be proud of yourself for making a difference when they had no one of their own.
