I love my girlfriend but I think I love her sister too.

Question - (9 December 2008) 3 Answers - (Newest, 10 December 2008)
A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Me and my girlfriend have been dating for over two years. We are madly in love and I care for her deeply. She has a younger sister that is very close to her. By close, I mean, very close. They slept in the same bed for twenty years and call each other all the time. I've known the sister for a little while, but it was only recently that I really got to know her.

It turns out we have the same taste in almost everything from food to music to movies. I've begun to feel differently about her and I think she feels the same way. She used to just give me looks and stuff, but for the last two months, she will send me text messages that say how much she cares about me and hearts and that stuff. But nothing that is completely crossing the line.

She spends the night at our house all the time. Two weeks ago, while the sister was sleeping over, me and the sister fell asleep on the living room floor together, while my girlfriend was in the bedroom.

Nothing happened, but my girlfriend is asking me if there is anything between us. What should I do? I love my girlfriend but I think I love her sister too.

Michael G.

The thought of leaving my girlfriend for anyone is unthinkable, but at the same time I am extremely attracted to her sister. I know I will never act on it, but the situation sucks alot. I've been avoiding the sister now.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (9 December 2008):

If the sisters have any morals, they won't let a guy get in the way of their relationship. Even more so, a guy who would cheat on one of them. If your thinking of making a move on the sister, I would get out of the relationship. This isn't normal or right and you will get knocked back pretty bad, the fall out will be huge.
