A female reader, Phoebe Halliwell United Kingdom +, writes (11 June 2006):

Phoebe Halliwell agony auntDear Reader,

the answer is as simple as you explained your question.

First of all - are you still with the someone you were with when you said no to him?

Are you prepared to leave that someone for your best friend?

When you have asked yourself these questions simply just tell him how you feel. Tell him you've been a real idiot and you said no to him before because ... etc etc.

Don't tell him you love him yet, it may scare him that all of this comes at once. Instead of using love - how about saying you have strong feelings for im and have had them ince ... etc etc.

Problem Solved!

If he likes you as much as you say he does then there are no worries. Find you Happiness,

All The Best,

Phoebe
