A female reader, Daniela2 United Kingdom +, writes (7 September 2008):

girls by nature mature much faster then men so even if he is older by age that doesn't mean you too don't understand each other...But be careful, woudlnt want him to use you now

Are you sure you love him though?. ishe just a hot older guy.I'm obviously not saying wait for more than 50 years before you decide. It's just that you aren't even dating yet. You probably haven't seen him at home, at school, with his friends and family, in difficult situations, going through tough times, happy times, trying times... There's so much more to love than holding hands during the summer when you've got no cares; you're going to have to love him when he hurts you deeply, when he ignores your feelings and wants his own way, when he laughs at you, ridicules you.(farts in his sleep - this one has ruined many relationships, believe me)... I'm not saying this will happen, and when I refer to your age I just want you to really enjoy your childhood and your youth, because when you DO start to really love someone, you're going to get older fast, in a good way.

And practically, if he likes you, he should be willing to wait, if you scheme on how to "get" him you may be compromising and interfering with any good that might come out of your friendship.

So live your life free and happy... and like Lieszl in Sound of Music, wait a year or two... the best is yet to come.
