We sometimes chat when we see each other on breaks etc and on e-mail, and get on really well. I have just found out he is single, what should I do next? Should I ask him out via e-mail? I finish with the company in about 4 months so it's not a major deal if things don't work etc...and we work on different floors etc...

well it depends.. are you the girl/woman(sorry i dont know your age) that makes the first move, or do you wait?
if you make the first move, ask for a contact and ask him for an outing or such.. a small one to get to know each other better. from there keep in touch with him regularly.. if possible try to see him as much as you can to get his attention.
if you are the waiting type, wait to see if he's intrested in you: things like him glancing your way and such, and make hints that you want to go out with him, but dont ask him directly.
hope ive been of some help,
15year old powerr!

I'd like to be the first to congratulate you for having good morals. You said, " I have just found out he's single" Many people don't even worry about the others marital status. Go for it !! I hope it works out for you.

good luck!
