writes:im 16 years old and the boy i like is 19 we have been talking for a while he came over to see me and we talked in his car for 2 hours...then i told him that my uncle said he dont want us dating and come to find out they are friends due to his cousin being my uncle's ex anyway ever since i told him what my uncle said he's been acting funny (saying im cool but too young for him) but he knew my age from jump start and it didnt bother him before now all of a sudden it does..what should i do cause i really like him but i think he doesnt wanna disrespect my uncle by talking to me after he said no to...i don't know

reader, anonymous, writes (9 February 2009): im in the same situation as you..my ex broke up with me because of my age,i personally think that age is nothing but a number..but in a way he doesn't want to disrespected your uncle..if he really has feelings for you he'll talk to your uncle and do anything to be with.and you should do what your heart tells you to do.in a way be careful because guys can be bitches..

well hun most 19 year old boys want a girl they can go clubbing with and have fun with. there is a big age difference really between a 16 year old and a 19 year old. you can grow up a hell of alot in a couple of years. you are better off sticking to guys your own age. he is right, you are too young for him. you don't want to end up getting hurt.

reader, anonymous, writes (9 February 2009): i advise you talk to your uncle about him! if there's anything you can do, is tell your uncle you like him and how much he means to you. he obviously doesnt want to disrespect your uncle, therefore wont want a relationship unless your uncle approves. if not, you'll maybe need to move on, he's not suited.
