A male reader, anonymous, writes (28 November 2008):

If you care about them, your petty standards should not matter.

How do you know it won't work? Do you get around in a time-travelling De Lorean? No.

Don't leap before you look. Because you'd be surprised how many guys are better than your suppeosed standards even when they don't appear to be.

Teacake agony auntI lowered my standards and still live to regret it. They never rise up to yours and if you love them, you always want to keep a balance and end up having to meet them at their lowest standard.
