Does anyone know where the best collage would be for medical school, or would I be able to attend the college here in town? I dont like walking into the clinic or the hospital (bad memories).

What can i do if i cant stand the hospital or the clinic?

"Medical school" covers a wide range of specialties. Some are more clinical or hospital-ish than others. I suppose (I am NOT in a medical profession!) that surgeons are at one extreme; the other extreme might be dentists, podiatrists, or psychiatrists. Then there are about a jillion equally-educated and equally-important folks in support roles, such as scientists doing medical research, who never even see a patient much less enter a clinic or hospital. (Just this week I met a fascinating young woman who recently earned a PhD in Neuroscience and is doing basic research into brain cancers.)

Most medical students earn undergraduate degrees in biology with an emphasis on physiology and anatomy. Sometimes this is even specifically identified as a "Pre-Med Degree". But many also come to medical school with degrees in chemistry, other life sciences (zoology, etc) and even engineering. These degrees can usually be earned at thousands of colleges and universities. I would estimate that there are, at most, only a few hundred medical schools in the U.S. - primarily in, or near, large urban centers. Although some may try to rank them, the "best" medical school will depend on your chosen specialty as well as your own personality.

You have set a challenging and worthwhile goal for yourself! To help you achieve it, talk to a guidance counselor at your school. Don't be shy - come out and say, "I want to attend medical school some day. Would you please help me select my courses and activities, and give me any other advice you can, to make that happen. I need a coach!"

And then - listen to your coach!
