Hi i'll apologize in advance for the legnth of this. I'll give you abit of background info as over the last 2 years ALOT of stuff has happened. People have said things, the way they have acted and the way this guy has acted to make me and others think he really liked me.

Basically i met him as we were in the same class everything was great however when he started showing that he liked me and staring at me i used to get abit shy. The next thing i knew was people in the class were just teasing us a little however this girl whos known me for about 12 years has always been madly in love with him (shes also one of his best friends) and started saying stuff about me to the rest of them which made it hard for me to be friends with anyone in the class... Therefore i couldnt really be friends with this guy either however he still stared at me loads and showed signs and stuff. That got sorted he continued to do it however not as much, he also liked this other girl that just used him.

Since then things have got more confusing many people think he likes me but because of the past and what people would say its hard for us to be together. He;s always said he loves me as a friend and that im a great mate to him however hes always treated me differently and not always for the best as when we were with the group we didnt really talk and when we did after a while stuff would get said about us, however if i saw him of college he was abit better.

Then a mate of his added me, shes a really nice girl however i found it weird she did not know me at all and the first thing she aksed was if i liked anyone(i didnt tell her) and then told me what a great guy this guy is. She was tlaking to another friend of mine and admitted she was trying to get me and this guy together. So that made me think he must have said something, not that i would expect her to say if he had. She also said to me she thinks wed be perfect together. This friend has recently spoke to her and she says that he hasnt said anything about liking me to her although when he said why were you trying to set them to up then she went quiet. Shes also said it was him that first told her about me! :S

Since we left things improved. I didnt seehim for a while but then we went out with a mate of ours and he was fine with me, just like a normal friend even play fighting with me lol. (WHICH CAN I SAY WAS A BIG IMPROVEMENT FROM WAHT WE USED TO BE)We've improved the most in the last month as we;ve met up with 2 of my old school mates and i know that one of them had a chat to him and spoke to him about what i went through at college(he knew anyway because he was there) and she told him how i was never like that and they all said bad things about me that werent true. He said that he knew i was nothing like that anyway, she then said she was never obessed wiht you or anything(that was one rumor that girl spread) and i knew it would probably never work at college(that was a lie but she said it to get his reaction) and he said "yea...yea i know it wouldnt of, i do like her i think shes a lovely girl" and that was it... He was great with me that night, better than i ever thought we could be....we started talking on msn however i still have to start the conversation and make it last but he has started to talk back abit, he doesnt really talk to anyone online. We then met up again with some of our friends and he was alright with me, not the best but then again obviously he wants to be with the rest of them, however he did seem to speak better to me when we were alone.

Anyway its kind of two things im asking...

1) ive been in love with him for a long time and its getting no easier, ive tried cutting contact and that doesnt work, ive tried just getting over him and that didnt work either.I wanna be really good friends with him however the closer i get to him it sort of gets better and worse at the same time. I;d love to be that best mate that you can talk about anything with but when it comes to him getting a gf i know it will just literally tare me apart as this is already. So how can i get over him and just be mates and not let every little thing upset me or fear the worst?

2) also he has more or less admitted he liked me on serval occasions to other people in the past and i think he did like me back then, to be honest it was obvious and i still think theres something there now but i;d just like your opinon.

PLEASE DONT JUDGE HIM! hes one of them that acts all confident and big headed and everything as a mate but deep down he doesnt seem to have the slightest bit of confidence.

He only went for that other girl because she was all flirty with him and to be honest, even then she had to make all the moves lol. Please dont just tell me to get over him because i honestly cant do this anymore im in such a mess i just need someone to understand. Poeple that have seen it are also too confused to know whats going off. I cant actually talk to him about this, so please can i have an opinon? So sorry for the length of this x
