writes:im a 14 yr old gril and i saw my dad watching porn a few minutes ago, ive noticed he does many reports on his computer but he also does close his laptop whenever hes going somewhere. and today i came home and i knocked on the window and through the blinds i saw him watching porn. i never actually thought my dad did that hes not like that. im just too scared too confront him. is this normal for every guy to watch? should i tell my mum?

reader, anonymous, writes (2 March 2007): Don't worry about it. Honestly, lots of men (and women) watch porn. It's an entirely normal and natural thing. The only time I would be worried is if porn is taking over his life, or if he's looking at inappropriate porn (child, animal, etc.)I'm sure your mother already knows, and if not, she probably just assumes it. There's nothing to confront him or your mother about. Unfortunately there comes a time in every child's life when they discover that their parents, too, are sexual beings. For me it was when I found handcuffs in my mom's drawer. So anyway, don't worry your mind over it. It's nothing wrong.
