See we all think about guys and girls from time to time especially if your friends are all dating and your not, especially if your CLOSEST friends are dating guys and your not. So thing is you develop a habit of not wanting to be single, just having a boyfriend for the sake of having one.
You also said you had a bad childhood well... this can mean that when you are around guys you feel comfortable cause when you were young you may have not had the comfort of having a father around?
There are so many probabilities as to WHY you think so much about guys, you have to have a chat with yourself and findout what and why you think so much about guys...
In the mean time you can try to get busy !!!! find a hobby/sport you like and stick with it give it all your time and attention. You will find that usually when your playing a sport at school it actually promotes your social life especially in school. Slowly you will make friends from the sport/hobby, not including that guys do tend to watch girls play watever so the attention of guys will slowly come. Just dont think about it, it will eventually go away or even better a guy will come that will never leave.
So i think its just... a matter of you and you :p
