writes:I recently posted a question of liking my straight friend. It was really bothering me and i made up my mind to tell her yesterday but i didnt have a chance to i couldnt sleep right just thinking about it made my heart go crazy. So today i finally decided to tell her well i sort of almost chickened out but i wrote it to her. At first i told her to promise and swear that she wouldnt tell anyone about what i was going to tell her and she said yeah i wont tell no one. i asked her to do this because i am not open about being bi since i know my family wouldnt accept it and i dont want to feel rejections from all my friends. So i wrote to her i like you but please dont tell anyone. She read it we were walking when she read and she sort of yelled out you like me well it wasnt such a yell but loud and i said shut up. So she was like i think some people already thought you liked me it was confusing what she was talking about she talked about my other friends and how they probably thought i liked them because i buy them stuff when they ask me and how i am really friendly. I told her again swear that you wont tell anyone and she said yeah i swear but the thing is she didnt tell me that she didnt like me or didnt see me that way she didnt say any of that. well i left but she called me and said her class was cancelled i asked her if she wanted me to come back she daid yes and when we were waiting for her to get picked up we didnt talk about that anymore she wasnt like not talking to me she was talking to me the same as she always does or maybe a lil more but about other things that had nothing to do with what i told her. So once again im confused because she didnt tell me how she felt about what i told her and she didnt tell me that she only saw me as a friend i am so confused but of course i feel better because i told her and never in my life have i told a girl that i had feelings for her now that i have told her though i immediately felt uncomfortable being around her i dont know why so can i please get some good answers on what to do know i would really appreciate it thanx. She is probally thinking about how to answer you. Be patient. You should never put something like that in writing. Ask her for it back.

You should give her some time to think it over. This kind of information can take a really long time to sink in to some people, and if they're thoughtful then they'll certainly want to mull it over a few times before giving you an answer, which is much better than a knee-jerk off the cuff reaction let me tell you. Just have a bit of patience, don't smother her or push her, and see where it goes! Good luck :)
