You don't need to "diet". What you need to do is change your lifestyle. Being on a diet gives the impression that you are going to eat healthily until you get to goal body shape then go back to your original diet. That will of course lead you to put on the weight again plus extra.I have recently lost 30lbs by changing my lifestyle. I get up earlier to have a good breakfast (porridge, wholemeal toast, fruit salad) I drink decaf coffee instead.I have healthy snacks whenever I feel that hunger pang, I NEVER stop myself from eating when I'm, hungry. I have a ham salad sandwich for lunch with a yoghurt, or a chicken salad. Then for dinner I make sure I eat before 7pm. I don't eat pasta or potatoes; these are not needed in our diet, and especially for dinner. I have grilled chicken, or salmon or lean steak like turkey with lots of fresh veg. If I do want carbs, I have a few new potatoes because they are low GI and release energy slowly. When you reduce your fatty calorie intake, your body starts to use energy from your fat supplies. This is called Ketosis. It should start a week after your new exercise and eating. It is also important to drink lots of fluid. I don't drink straight water because I dislike the taste so I make up sugar free squash from concentrate and keep a few bottles in the fridge so its there when I need it. I also make sure I drink first when I'm hungry because it can just be your body's way of telling you that your dehydrated. I go to the gym 5/6 times a week and I love it. Find something you like doing and make a routine. I do 20 mins on the elliptical trainer, resistance weights for 30 mins, then squats, lunges, crunches and stretches.I feel the best I have done in my life, I'm the fittest I have been even though I'm technically obese! Now I've got 60lbs until I'm at goal weight and I'm looking forward to every lb that I shed!Good luck and have fun!!
