writes: my son has a resident order on his daughter he since found a new g/friend with 5 children who are under supervision from social services he left to live with her and left his daughter with me she is 2 1/2 i have looked after her sinc eshe was 8mths old her mother who is now a recovering addict walked out on the 18 mths ago and now wants to see her daughter she as had nothing to dowith her at all my son now says he wants to take her to live with him and this womens kids my grandaughter is happy here and settled she does not know her mum and her dad only visits when it suits him how do i go about keeping her and what are my chances i am at the end of my tether with all of this the parents are not thinking about there daughter only themselves not what it will do to her and how confusing it will be to her my son doesnt give me anything for her neither does her mother i have raised her and they just want to ruin everything i have done can anyone help me have you been in the same situation i live in the midlands if this helps Reply to this Question Share |

You could talk to a lawyer about getting soul custody but it may not be very easy. The mother's drug addiction works in your favor but your son being the natural father definitely has an upper hand. A good lawyer will be able to advise you as to your chances. Good luck.
