When I confessed I felt better, but of course it was a strain on my mother. I know it's hard but you have to keep yourself from telling your mother anything. Start off small by promising yourself that you will not say anything to your mother for 24 hours. Then extend it to 48 the following week, then 72, you get the idea. Also, make sure your mother understands the OCD and make her promise to you that she will not pay any attention to your confessions. The moment you start a confession, your mother should say "I hear you but I am not listening." As it becomes more and more difficult to confess, you will be forced to deal with it yourself, and you will realize that nothing bad will happen if you don't tell your mother everything.

I suggest you schedule an appt. with your healthcare professional and see which one might be helpful in your case. Many times a small dose of this medication will keep you balanced and keep you from exhibiting habits associated with OCD that can be both disruptive to your life and heart-wrenching. Good luck.

You need to talk to your mum about your OCD and tell her exactly how you feel about all this. Let her know you hate bringing all the bad things up that you did but you feel you need to get it off your chest before you can feel better. The positive thing about it is IT IS IN THE PAST and that's a good thing. I'm sure your mum will be sympathetic about it. You could also go to your GP and tell him about it. He should be able to refer you to a therapist who specialises in OCD who will help you overcome your problem. You could also ask your mum to go along with you for support.
