Is it just me or do all women, apart from a small sample of goth/metal/rock followers, dislike, or more intensively are turned off by, long hair on a guy. For me my hair has always been part of my adult image and my most recognisable feature. I wouldn't feel like me when I look in the mirror if I hacked it all off. I always keep it clean, conditioned and neatly groomed and styled so it's not as if I'm unpresentable. I had looked through some personals / dating websites and nearly every girl listed long hair as a turn off. I don't really shy away from talking to and socially engaging with the fairer sex but too many seem distant or comtemptuous towards me and it's starting to concern me.

As long as it's clean most girls will not give it a moment's thought.

But you don't have to even get it cut real short either!! 2 of my 3 brothers have longish hair and strangely enough they have no probs with getting girls!!
My boyf also has long blonde hair to his shoulders and I just love it!!! He gets loads of attention & compliments tho from other girls when he's out too!!
By the sound of the girls you've met they seem to be selfish and superficial and care only about appearances and not whats underneath the skin... If your still not sure all you need do is go and have a consultation with a hairdresser about a different style but keeping the length in it??? There's lots of ways of getting around this...

Eg: for women, I like almost anything - short, long, middle-back, spikey, even punk mohawk - it really depends on the entirety and the person. Some styles more rare than the others, but overall, it's about meeting the 'right' people.

I for one, at 21, find long hair attractive, as long as its well-maintained (meaning not huge and frizzy). You say most goth/metal/rockers like long hair, that's becuz a lot of these girls are not superficial. They won't care what you look like but who you are. If you go for girls who only care about their looks and what other people think of them, than you might be looked at as odd. Anyway,I think you'll find someone who will love your long hair and will also love you for you and not superficial appearances.
