writes:i have been really stupid i have recently met up with an ex of mine and i ran away to scotland with him as i have a restraining order aginst him.He is still up there but is planning to come back and im dreading it because heis violent and an alcoholic and im scared of what he might do to my mums house again.I hate myself for going back to him and i totally regret it and i am worried sick for my and my mums safety.I dont know what to do,i know that if he does something stupid to my mums house again then everyone will hate me because it is my fault i should never have gone back.Can anyone give me advice on what they would do?

reader, anonymous, writes (4 July 2010): I don't know how it works over there, but you should CALL THE AUTHORITIES , CALL YOUR MOTHER to notify her (she might leave), and head back into town.
Rule #1 about abusive relationships, your safety is most threatened once you attempt to leave.
Rule #2. The restraining order was filed for a reason, I assume.

Have you been in contact with women's aid? They can get you some counselling and advice on how to deal with your current situation.
