I've figured it's only either dead skin or bacteria being killed(similar as to what happens when drinking vodka and the tongue turns white).I wear chapstick to make my lips smooth and prevent chapping daily and I thought maybe it's that also.Is there a way to prevent it happening because I don't quite fancy walking into my house and having my family see me with white lips. Should I just not wear chapstick when I go to see my girlfriend or is there something I can buy/make that'll prevent this? Reply to this Question Share |

As chapstick is vaseline based it could be saliva reacting with the active ingredients which i think is petroleum jelly so that could explain the whiteness. try a non petroleum based cream like nivea and see if that makes a difference x

Hey sweet,Well a good way to get rid of excess dead skin is to exfoliate your lips. Scrub them with an old toothbrush, a damp washcloth or an exfoliant from the store. I even like using mixtures like brown sugar, honey and olive oil... Anyway, that will help get excess dead skin off of your lips. Keep up that chapstick work!!Hope it helps, sweetness... xx India
