writes: I have a guy friend who gets bullied constantly because he's gay. He doesn't want me or our other friend (he only has me and another girl as friends) to tell because he thinks the bullies will come after me or our other friend. It's painful to watch him get shoved into cement walls or lockers by other guys. The other day he was going to drive me home and his car had "faggot" sprayed painted on it. I thought he going to cry. I thought it was the meanest thing ever. But he wouldn`t let me tell someone. Do you think I should tell anyway?

reader, anonymous, writes (8 January 2009): Just keep your mouth shut.. If he told you not to tell anyone then he doesn't want you to. When he gets enough courage to come out to everybody he will. This is very cruel of people to do but there is so much hatred in this world. Just be there for him whenever this stuff happens and comfort him. My best friend is gay also and he used to get made fun of but once he came out people don't even bother any more. People that made fun of him in the past are now his friends. Eventually people grow up and learn that making fun of people because of how they are is immature. Just stand up for your friend and be by his side. Take care xx
