writes:I'm a junior in high school and I've had a crush on a teacher since my freshman year. He's always looked at me and been nice to me, but now he seems like he's going out of his way to see me and talk to me. During his prep period and my off period he always comes to the cafeteria to talk to me. He'll put his hand over my hand or arm while we talk and acts like it's okay. I really like him, but he's 48 and I'm 17. He constantly asks me if I need a ride home after school, and I always say no, but i want so badly to say yes. I really like him, what should I do? (by the way, I've never had him as a teacher, I've just seen him around)

reader, anonymous, writes (6 January 2008): I'm in a similar situation. First of all, don't get in a car with him. Caution is always best.But he could just be friends with you. For a lot of people, a hand on the arm is a friendly gesture, only meaning that he cares for you. Not necessarily in a romantic way, though. Keep talking to him if you want to. Sometimes, enjoying the conversation is enough of a reason to continue talking to you day after day. I ALWAYS hang out in one of my male teacher's classrooms during his planning period if I'm bored in whatever class I'm supposed to be in, but it's not because we're flirting. We just enjoy each other's company. It's not weird at all.To find out if he's interested in you like that... maybe you put your hand on his arm and see how he reacts; just make sure it's in front of someone else. If he jumps, you make him feel something. If he doesn't react, he comfortable with you touching him in that way in front of other people, so he doesn't assume you're being forward with him. If he does react, chances are he'll say something to you about it, which could tell you where you stand. It's a potential make-or-break action, though, so wait until you'd be okay with things changing. He might jump and then not say anything, though, so it could not be a big deal.Just use caution and good judgment.

 you should tell someone about all this as he is quite old and very older than you. Never mind you like him he seems sick perverted to me. It will all lead to something eles if you dont put a stop to it. Or maby it's just his way of being freindly i dont no but either way try not to talk to him as much. xx

sorry but in a matter of speaking student teacher relationships dont go well together im sure there are lads your age just as nice another fact for you to consider is how much do u know about this man !!! has he got a family of his own !!! heres a word of advice it might upsetyou but just move on hes old enough to be your dad sorry

reader, anonymous, writes (15 December 2007): I am having a hard time understanding why so many teenage girls here have crushes on their male teachers who are so much older, like in their 40s and 50s. Can you explain why you like your teacher so much?
Also, can anyone else her explain this phenomenon? There are a ton of posts her from teen girls who have crushes on their male teachers and want to have sex with them. What is up with that? What is it about a 40 to 50 year-old man that a teenage girl would be sexually attracted to?

Its hard, but its neccessary, if hes caught, he can never teach again, he could go to jail, or be registered as a sex offender. The legal stuff goes away once you turn 18 but his career is still in danger. Best thing to do is to wait till you leave the school (for good) and then make a decision

He's a teacher and shouldn't be putting either of you in this situation, by touching you and offering lifts.If something was to happen, he would get sacked. And blacklisted from schools.Sometimes girls who look to much much older guys for relationships are trying to compensate for the lack of a father figure in their life.I'm sure there are plenty of guys who are closer to your age about for you to take your pick from.
