A female United States age , anonymous writes:

My daughter wants to marry someone that I didn't approve of. I told my daughter my feelings and she was glad that I told her. The problem is now she can not saying hurtful things to me and has gained the sympathies of my husband. She will call and ask for him. When I confronted him , he told me that she cannot talk to me and wanted to know what I have against my daughter. Don't know why this is all blowing up in my face now.

No watered down advice here! agony auntYou must have forgotten what it feels like to be IN-LOVE Nothing you can say can turn her against him, even when he's wrong he's right in her eyes. When she came to you told her the "TRUTH" our daughters don't always want to hear the truth, when it comes to relationships. They just want us to LISTEN. She was never going to leave him; unless SHE’S WAS READY Your husband knew that, he also knows you did nothing wrong, except maybe use bad judgment on sparing her feeling a little. We all need that at times. Maybe you should not be so BLUNT she's probably more sensitive than you give her credit for being.
