I feel it is nearly impossible for people to mutually like each other...

A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I feel that love has always been this way, at least for me. There are people that I like, and would very much like to get together with, but they don't like me. And then there are people who like me, but I don't like them.

It gets so hopeless sometimes, because all I can think about is how nearly impossible it is for two people to mutually like each other... Is it just me being cynical, or have you also felt that way before?
