My boyfriend went away for 5 weeks and he will be back in 2 weeks time and since he's been away I haven't missed him and it's made me think about our relationship. We've been together now for over a year and I don't feel like he's my boyfriend, I feel like he's my friend is it wrong to be thinking this?

thank you for your responses. I've taken them all on board and I will put them into action when he comes back and let you no what happened. But I'm starting to realise that I'm probably just being a bit stupid because it's better to have a friend than to have someone who always just wants to have sex.

A male reader, dasonras United States +, writes (3 January 2009):

Firstly, do you feel that your boyfriend can't be your friend?

Loving relationships are built on friendship. If you guys can't be friends then all there is is sex. So you need to figure out what exactly is making you feel this way AND why is it a problem for you.
