A male United States age 41-50, *etalGirlForLife writes:

So, I am a little lost. My ex boyfriend and I, who were together for 5 years. 3 months ago we broke up. I need advice on what to do. He tells me constantly that he doesn't want me back at all. That he is not interested in being back with me. But he wants a sexual relationship with me. Until recently, that was happening. I decided to end that and just ask for friendship. I feel like he is my one. The only man I am supposed to be with the rest of my life and I feel I made a huge mistake in what I had done.

My question is, how would you go about getting him back?

A male reader, anonymous, writes (27 May 2009):

But...you are not his "one". You can have him back, sexually, but that's all you'll get from him. Your only other option is "friendzone" which lasts indefinitely minus the sex. You'll get to hear about all his new relationships and who he's dating.

Continuing to try to change his mind and pursuing him after he told you he has no interest in you will only lessen his attraction to you and remind him of how much he really doesn't want to be with you.

You're best bet is to make a clean break and move on. He may regain interest once he sees you are happy with your life and dating others but that's only a slim chance, at least he'll have some renewed respect for you though.
