I feel a connection but not sure if I like him, should I go on a second date with him?

Is it ok to go out with a guy on a second date to see if you really feel a connection there? Cause I'm not sure if I like him as more than a friend right now, and I would feel bad if i gave him a false hope by going on a second date. What do you guys think? Is it ok to test out the waters with a second date and if anything afterwards let him know i only see us as being friends?
