A male reader, anonymous, writes (15 November 2007):

i tried to tell her 35 yrs ago, but when she cried hysterically i relented. two kids later, we are still married, though we have been living apart for four years. i still am having a problem with truly telling her. she thinks she will eventually win me back. i have another woman who loves me and makes me happy, but i am afraid to hurt the first one, and so she keeps hanging around. don't make the mistake that i did. there is no easy way. just do it.

If you feel this way then talk to her and let her know. If she likes you then she will understand. How long down the line do you want to go? Years and kids? You need to tell her now and stop leading her on.

take care

You don't need to break up with her. Tell her you like her as a friend but not as a gf.

thewiseman agony auntwell let me put it down for you. THERE IS NO NICE WAY!!!! there is more polite ways. such as just telling her that you would like to have a trial seperation because you need space or you can just tell her that you dont have the same feelings you used to have for her.
