What can I do? I really like him and I don't want to disappoint him.

I believe the worst disappointment is of a person being fake, now before you get mad about the fake word I mean it in the way he has taken it upon his self to judge you and his judgement was clearly wrong. You need to just let him know or let him see that shy, quiet terrified part of you and the thing is some men do like shy, quiet girls. I think he would appreciate your honesty and respect you for just being you I don't think you will disappoint him it will just make him want to get a closer to the REAL you!
