Now I have a stripe that way it looks better and doesnt hurt.Make sure you lather yourself up a lot before you start to shave it, and after you've done it you might have red spots and might be sore but after you keep doing it, it wont hurt so much.

It's a personal preference for guys, though I think most would prefer shaved or at least trimmed. After your first time maybe you could ask him what he would like.
