A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I lied to the guy that I fancy, we had a quick snog, I wasn't very good (because I have never done it before), he stopped and asked me what was up, I just said that it had been a while and my last boyfriend wasn't very nice to me and it has made me shy around the opposite sex which was a lie, do you think he will ask more questions, I feel bad for lying but I don't want him to know how inexpereinced i am.

tux agony auntSo being a virgin is a bad thing nowadays? You should have been straight forward with him. It wouldn't have drove him away.. That is normally one things guys would not mind with.. I'm sure girls would too as well. but anyways.

take it from me...always be honest and tell the truth. lying will only create many problems later on! one lie leads to another and another and so on. it's not worth it.

a relationship needs to be built on trust and honesty. if you can't be honest with him now, you never will be and your relationship is bound to fail

saltwater agony auntThe simple answer is to tell him the truth.

There is absolutely no shame at all in being inexperienced...after all, weren't we all born inexperienced?

No-one came out of a womb having already perfected their intimacy and flirting skills, and no man worth their salt will be bothered about inexperience.

Tell him the truth and apologise...it's the best thing.

Good luck

jessica04 agony auntI think if you tell him the truth, he will actually find it very endearing and probably refreshing to know that you aren't running around the streets having your way with every Tom, Dick and Harry. You have nothing to be ashamed of.

How funny that it used to be that a girl your age should be ashamed if she had experience. Nowadays, everyone thinks girls need to be as sexually experienced as a porn star. Thank you , from all women :-)
