I don't want her to give up friends, but this guy is not decent

Question - (24 July 2009) 0 Answers - (Newest, )
A male United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

My girlfriend has more guy friends than girl friends... just a part of military life. I do get jealous sometimes, but Im working on it. One guy in particular bothers me though. She told me that one time about two years ago he tried to take advantage of her when she was drunk. She forgave him, and they are still friends, in fact, she says he is one of her best friends. This guy is married now. My girlfriend says that people make mistakes, and I agree, but to me this seems more like a serious character flaw than a mistake. We are getting very serious, and I dont want to say that she has to give him up to keep me, but I definitely dont think he is a decent type of guy. Any suggestions?
