We've been together for one year now. At 42 I still have a high sex drive while he starts struggling to satisfy me. I cant imagine what happens one day he cant manage to satisfy me sexually. I know a loving relationship is not all about sex but at he same time I dont how to cope without it. Please advise.

There's no reason why you can't engage in sexual activity well in to his 70's. Perhaps he needs a little help from the magic 'blue pill' - Viagra. There are other remedies available and seeing as he's over 60 he won't have to pay for them on prescription, although there are some conditions attached to whether the doc. can prescribe them or not.
Get him to see his doc. and get his pecker pecking again. Private prescriptions are available which will cost, but not that much, considering the benefits.
