I send him a note making reference that he didn't want to tell me where he is.He replied and ask me to try and understand that he can't tell me where he is b/c of his job. He also said he's tracking tropical storm Hanna for my sake since, I'm in NC.I feel bad, since I care about him and I didn't want him to get upset. What can I say to apologize and let him know that all I want is good to him and that I respect his job?

I think he's going to understand.
If he's in the military then there are lots of things that he can't tell you.
My hubbie is in Iraq and we have a secret code.
Eg. If he's going out for McDonalds next week, it means he's off playing with Americans and may disappear for a few days. If he's going South of the Border or "shopping" then he's going to Kuwait. If he's going out for a Kebab it means he's off to the Iraqi camp and won't be in touch for a while.
It's not rocket science but it's vague enough that if any naughty types are listening then they wouldn't get anything from it.
You'll get used to it.
Good Luck!! xx
