Not sure if the nurse was at the GP or family planning clinic. You could go to a different clinic. Or even complain if you found her rude.

I agree, please don't lie at appointments, as questions are for a reason.
I used to have the contraceptive injection. You don't actually have to have the first one on your period, if you do, it just means that it works quicker. Therefore please use condoms for the next few weeks.
It is really to be sure you are not pregnant before they give it.
I cannot imagine why you wanted to lie, because the doctors and nurses at the family planning clinics deal with sexual issues and all forms of contraception all the time, as their job. They are used to it of course.

Why would you lie? That's so stupid.
It's probably both to make sure you aren't pregnant and also so that your cycle is in a certain phase.
Your hormones are going to be messed up for a week or so now so expect cramps and PMT and headaches etc. You also may not be covered contraceptivly so use condoms for a while too.
If you are really worried then go back to the clinic and ask them for advice. And next time don't lie to nurses or doctors, they ask you questions for a medical reason and will have heard all the answers before no matter how embarrassing.
Good Luck!! xx
