You sound lovely, You have nothing to worry about, the hospital and anyone who cares for your wife during the pregnancy will give you information about what to do. We're all worried when it's the 1st baby. None of us knows what to do the experts help all of us.

here we have health visitors who come around to the house every day for the first 10 days after the baby is born. they are use to new parents and give advice about everything. Maybe you have something similar there?

dont worry about this. The hospital will help you wit hwhat to do. They arent just going to throw a baby at you and leave you to your own devices. The baby will need to be fed. First the mother will go to recovery while the baby is checked and cleaned up. Once the mother is better they will bring the baby in at different times. This is when the baby wil be fed depending if your wife wants to breast feed or use a bottle. If she wants formula make sure to bring a bottle with you to the hospital. Im not postive but they might give you one? Not sure. Just dont sweat it. Ask the nurses if yoou are unsure.
