I constantly feel as though everyone is against me

A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I'm 23.

I know everyone has their good days and bad days. Some days, I'm not too bad but other days, I'm extremely low and I don't want to know anymore. I know that there are certain times of the year that people tend to have low periods but I'm like this all the time. I just tend to put on a happy face on for everybody because I would feel too much like a burden. Really deep down inside I feel all this hated, bitterness, anger, loneliness and I simply feel don't feel as if I should be around anymore.

I was sexually abused when I was 9 and was bullied in and out of School.

I just constantly feel as if everyone is against me.

~AgonyAuntLaure~ agony auntIt will take time to get back to normal! You have had a hard life but now you are at your peak years you should make up for it! (By peak i mean you are at the time where you have developed fully!) Please if you can see a councillor or visit your doctor and talk to them about your worries! If you feel lonely you need to get more friends so perhaps start talking to people or making new friends there is alot of local clubs out there you can go and join! If you dont fancy medical treatment treat yourself take up a hobby you like which will allow you to socialise and have fun! Try and forget about your past i know it is hard but it is the only way you will get over it :) Message me is you want to chat more about it!

A female reader, DrPsych United Kingdom +, writes (21 March 2009):

DrPsych agony auntThis is not seasonal affective disorder (which usually causes depression in the winter), instead it sounds like a form of clinical depression. It also sounds rather severe/ life restricting and given your history you should definitely seek medical help and counselling to come to terms with everything. There are plenty of effective treatments out there to help you feel better and come to terms with what has happened before.
