 Why dont you change your MSN name to something in relation? Something like, "Love is like an alton towers rollercoaster". This should make him ask about your name and get you on the subject of alton towers. You could say you had a fantastic time there and start talking about the laughs you had while you were there. This should bring the old feelings back and get the conversation headed in the right direction.

You can ask him out can you not? If you can, see where that takes you. If you can't for some bake-forsakened reason, then you can just go on being MSN buddies until he either finds himself a girlfriend, or you can suck it up and let go of some of your 'fears' and tell him damn it.
Geez... "I can't cuz I don't think he likes me" well jeebus, so would that be the same as, "I won't apply for work at X ccmpany because I don't think they will accept me"?
