I'm not the biggest guy down there but that doesn't really concern me, what concerns me is that recently I haven't been able to hold an erection. I'm a little overweight but not obese and smoke, I know these can effect your ability to get an erection but seeing as i'm still young I don't see that as a problem. Do you think it's just nerves or could there be a medical problem?

If you go slow and enjoy the moment, it will get easy. I started having sex about your age, and while I did not have erection issues, I could not orgasm until I was 21. I was so focused on doing th eright moves, making th eright sounds and stupid stuff like that, I could not focus on MY pleasure. So yeah, the brain can really get in the way if you let it. Best advice I can give is be COMPLETELY comfortable with her first. And use protection!
If she likes you enough to have sex, she won't be comparing prior lovers to you unless you arent confident and they were. And as long as you arent absolutely tiny (like under 3 inches), she will enjoy it. Take a good look at penis size threads on this group...the VAST majority of women prefer average penises...so 5-7 inches. If you are that concerned, lose a bit of weight. losing fat on your pubic area will make your penis look bigger...so will trimming your bush.

Ahhh, well before we get started on the advice, let me reassure you that unless you have one smaller than a AAA battery, you're going to be just fine! We women don't even think about comparing penis size if we're truly in love with you. Most women are more about love, emotion, and trust than comparing mechanics of the male organ.
That being said, I would suggest you visit a doctor about your erection issues, even if he can set your mind at ease or point you towards talking to someone who can help assuage your performance anxiety.
However, you should consider stopping smoking, because that DOES have an effect on blood flow to the penis as well as give you a host of other problems.
