Me and my girlfriend of 1 1/2 months, had unprotected sex. I came inside of her and she went straight to the bathroom to pee. Does she still have a chance of getting pregnant?

bonym agony auntEyeswideopen has hit the nail on the head, but all the others are perfectly right too, where you urinate from is different from the actual vagina where you ejaculated, you urinate through the urethra and you ejaculated in her vagina so urinating after sex does not make the slightest bit of difference my friend!!!! Of course it does depend on whether she is ovulating or not, but unprotected sex may lead to babies. xXx

maxsteel86 agony auntYou need to be careful with this, peeing after sex would have no effect on the chances of pregnancy. Get a test kit towards when her period is due. Hope you'll learn your lesson! the worrying really sucks...

eyeswideopen agony auntOf course she could have gotten pregnant! Going pee doesn't flush out the vagina, it's a whole other set of plumbing! People having unprotected sex better know their human physiology just a tad better. Whatever were you thinking?

Wendyg agony auntYes without protection she can become pregnant if any sperm enters her vagina. doesnt matter if she went to the loo the little spermies are by then well on there way! If she wasnt on the pill, and this is within 72 hours she can get the morning after pill to be on the safe side, as its not a given that she would fall straight away but as we are all different there is no one of knowing if this episode did lead to an unwanted pregancy. In future please dont take the risk, always use a condom, this will also protect against STI's and STD's and will also aid in preventing pregnany. If you guys are pretty close and are sure about one another without the need for a condom then you will need to use another form of contraception to avoid pregnancy if you dont use condoms, the pill, the coil, injectsion, there are plenty of other options and it depends what best suits her, but please go into this maturely and dont dice with the pregancny thing, make sure you take precautions.

A reader, anonymous, writes (6 August 2006):

Yes! Although there are many factors that can affect whether or not she is pregnant, such as the day she on of her cycle, it is very possible that she could have gotten pregnant. If she is late for her next period, you should buy a home pregnancy test at the drug store to find out if she is pregnant. If the results are negative, you got lucky this time. If they are positive, she should go to see her doctor right away. Even if she gets her period on time, there is STILL a possibility of her being pregnant. In which case, just to be certain, I recommend she still use a home pregnancy test. Better safe than sorry. Whatever happens, remember to always have protected sex, not just to prevent pregnancy, but to prevent the spread of STD's. In today's world, unprotected sex is reserved for married partners only. You have to make sure you know someone's history well. It's also probably not a bad idea that your girlfriend consider getting on the pill. Although you should always, ALWAYS use condoms during sex, it's good to have some back-up just in case. I hope everything turns out okay. Be smart!
