Hey everyone! :)

Ok I'm a 17 year old girl and I'm very self conscious especially sonce I'm over weight!

My boobs are kinda bigger compared to my friends and I know it's cuz I'm fat! But my nipples are really wierd!

I don't know what its called but that area arround your nipple that's the darker colour from your skin tone, well mine is about half of an index finger!

And its just not like normal! Like in movies when girls are like naked.. Theirs are like so tiny its like a quarter of the index finger! (The region around the nipple)

So I'm concered.. Is this normal?

Oh and if I lose weight will my boobs get a bit smaller? I really want them to!

Please help me! Thanks

A female reader, anonymous, writes (3 June 2010):

And to the person who said to never think you're fat and to always be happy just how you are- I wouldn't say that. I have over weight people in my family, and friendship groups, and I love them all. I have nothing against overweight people. But I will NEVER say to anyone to just be happy whilst being overweight and not try to become healthy. Being overweight is NOT healthy and can cause soo many health problems its awful. I have almost lost family members due to them being overweight. You should never be ashamed of your body, but you should also never be content with being unhealthy either. Just like if someone is way underweight, I would tell them they should work on being healthy as well. People need to get over the obsession with physical appearance and start focusing on health and how health will affect the overall happiness of your life.

So, never think to yourself that you are ugly. You aren't. But if you are overweight, you should focus on becoming healthier. I say this out of concern, because I've seen excess weight destroy people's lives (people who I adore.) Don't do anything extreme, as starving yourself just hurts your body more and slows your metabolism. Maybe speak to a doctor or nutritionalist, they can help you get started on living a healthier life. :) Best wishes. 3

Losing weight will never change your nipple size. I have size 34B breasts and my nipples are only a bit smaller than yours. Plus, everyone is different. There is no "norm" here.

ChristineAvril agony auntMarieclaire, as you said, 'no one is going to recoil in horror when they see your breasts and say "oh my what big areolae you have..." ', much more likely to say "oh my what gorgeous areolae you have, I love them!"

Why? Because loads of men do love large arealae and you should consider yourself very lucky.

As far as reducing in size when you lose weight is concerned, it can be slight or dramatic - look at Ginger Spice, a UK pop singer of a while ago; she lost quite a bit of weight and lost nearly all her boobs!

Her fans were not best pleased and she put some weight back on......

CrystalGirl agony auntThey sound completely normal to me. I thought that same thing at first being that I am over weight as well. Put there is absolutely nothing wrong with your boobs or nipple region. Everyone is different and yours just happen to be larger, but there is nothing abnormal about it. ^_^

Spades agony auntI agree, this is completely normal. There is nothing wrong with you. Everyone's body shape is different.

We are our harshest critic.

Hope that helped.

A female reader, romany United Kingdom +, writes (2 June 2010):

romany agony auntAwww Bless ya, Calm down, boobs come in all shapes and sizes, areolae (the darker area surrounding your nipple) is the same, all different shapes and sizes.

My friend has small breasts, with dark brown areolae like dinner plates, and my boobs are huge with small pinkie/brown areolae.

We both lost loads of weight and her boobs shrunk, but areolae stayed the same, I lost aload of weight, and my back got smaller, so my cup size got bigger, and altho they did get smaller, they didnt really in comparison to my body size.

Please dont beat yourself up over this, you can buy bra's that minimise your size, as a small breasted girl can to enhance theirs, but you need to be measured and wear the proper size, once they are comfy, you wont even think about them.

A female reader, person12345 United States +, writes (2 June 2010):

person12345 agony auntHi there. Your nipples are normal. Don't try to compare yourself to women in porn, they are photoshopped and edited. Some women's areolas (the dark area around their nipple) take up nearly the entire front of their boob. You're totally normal. Take a look at this website of totally normal breasts in all shapes and sizes and you'll see, you're normal.

As for size, yes if you lost weight your breasts would most likely get smaller.

KeighleySky agony auntWho says your fat? Your perfect for who you are. Those girls in films have most likely had nip and tuck, or they're cold because when your cold or aroused your nipples perk and the area around them kinda shrink. Dont be calling yourself fat, it only gives other people the right to call you it. Maybe a change in diet would make you feel better, just cut down how much junk food you eat but dont try and starve yourself, change a chocolate bar for a kellogs bar. Change fizzy drinks to water, if you cant stand the taste of water-like me then get flavoured water, or fruit smoothies. And try and have your five a day.

Your perfect as you are :) x

An index finger isn't really a measurement seem

as everyone had different sized fingers, in the same way people have different sized nipples!! Don't worry about it, porn is superficial.

Also yes if you loose weight your boobs should get a bit smaller but not loads, learn to love what you have!!
