I am wondering what are the possibilities that I am pregnant. I have checked many websites online saying that you're not super fertile during the week before your period. Even if the birth control wasn't completely effective, wouldn't it have at least thickened the mucus enough to help a little to prevent pregnancy? Please help me because I am driving myself crazy.

nicole_007 is verified as being by the original poster of the questionI took a pregnancy test today and it showed negative! I plan on taking the BC shot from now on so I will not have to worry about starting a packet late or missing a pill. Again, thanks for the advice.

The late start to your pill pack alone could technically be enough to make them temporarily ineffective, at least for 10 days or so until your body got back to the necessary hormone levels. Only your doctor can tell you how the antibiotics may have affected this mix. The fact that you were close to the end of your active pills, and therefore about to start your period, makes it pretty unlikely that you became pregnant. However, this isn't a foolproof indicator, as different women ovulate at different times in their cycles.
To answer your question: could you be pregnant? It's possible. Is it likely? No. If you're worried, please note that if the act of unprotected sex occurred within the last 72 hours, it is NOT TOO LATE to go get the morning-after pill (also known as emergency contraception, Plan B, etc.) and take that. It might help you with peace of mind. Good luck =]
