writes:so i am really shy and self concious even though alot of people say i shouldnt be. i am very self concious of my appearence, but people tell they dont understand why because alot of them think i am cute or hondsome. but i really have issues with my appearence and it is really starting to bug me. how do i get rid of this and why am i thinking this way even if people tell me i am all this???? ALSO, i am very shy and i dont know i really just want to get to know this person who loves me. i have been single for a while now. people say its because i am too shy and dont talk and not my appearence which i think is the whole problem. so can someone tell me what i am doing wrong

If the people who are reassuring you are truthful then you have nothing to worry about. Even if someone doesn't like your appearance that doesn't mean that the whole world doesn't like your appearance. You should embrace your appearance. Forget about your looks and go and get to know the person who loves you. This person obvioulsy likes your looks if they love you! Also don't be shy. Why be shy? You never know what may come of a situation if you are afraid of trying something different. If you ever feel shy think of this phrase- "carpe diem" which means sieze the moment and live life to the full. I hope this advice helps!

 A lack of self confidence stands out in people like a sore thumb and people will see it a mile off.
Maybe you should try visiting your doctor to see if you can get some therapy to try and deal with this as there is usually a reason some where for feeling like this, maybe something from your childhood.
Honestly if people don't think you cute and handsome then they do not tell you this, they just say nothing at all, you really do need to start to learn to love yourself because until you can love yourself you will never be able to show real love to another person.
