Now I feel really guilty and I'm scared if he knew we could never reconcile but I realize I love him. Should I tell him what happened while we were broken up?

 If you want to know how deep is his love for you , you can tell him and if he forgives you , everything will be o.K.
You will have to take the risk and it could go the other way.
If you don't want to take the risk , then keep that skeleton locked up in your cabinet and throw the key into the deepest ocean.
