I have liked this girl for a long time, but not until recently did I start having strong feelings for her. Now, I have never dated before, and I don't know about all this stuff. Could I ask her on a date, eventhough there is 4 1/2 years between the two of us? We are both religious, and would never have sex unless we were married (not saying we plan to), but could we date?

I don't see why you shouldn't date. Look at it this way: four years may seem a huge age-gap when you are in your teens, but by the time you're 40 it's nothing at all!!! Obviously, if she's only 15 at the moment then you need to be rather more careful than you might be with someone of your own age - and I'm not just talking about not having sex.
Think back to your own feelings and emotions when you were 15 if you can - most people mature a lot between mid-teens and early twenties, and you need to consider that her attitude towards a relationship of any sort may be very different from yours. Similarly, her experience of relationships is almost certainly much more limited than yours. You need to consider that and make sure you're not trying to move too fast for her.
Good luck.
