It sounds random but when I'm with my mates if I ever struggle to find something to say I just say that I'm sorry I am not very good at making conversation and they totally understand and start one for me! Just be yourself and maybe share what is on your mind (if it wont offend anyone) and just try to relax. Conversations normally come naturally as you get to know people better. So just start with small talk like "What did you do at the weekend?" or "So hows life for you these days?" and just listen and ask questions when you feel its appropriate and maybe relate your life to it and that will give you something to talk about! I hope I helped a bit :) x
