I am studying to become a civil engineering and at the moment I just want to concentrate on my studies and being with friends. My main worry however about being single is that as I'm planning on being a civil engineer, my first 2 or 3 years will consist of long hours on a construction site. As a result, as well as the fact there aren't many women in engineering, I worry about my chances of finding a girlfriend. How do other civil engineers find partners after they have graduated from uni if there are few to find through work? I tell my parents my problem but they don't seem that worried that I won't find a girlfriend as they say I'm just the same as every other person who says the same question as me - will i ever find someone.

yes you will find someone. just your focusing on your career. dont rush things fate will soon bring you things to deal with. yes your first years working may be long and hard but like everyone else they manage to make time and im sure when you want to have a long term partner you will find one. you seem happy at the moment but your mind is wandering to the future and i think that you should live in the now enjoy life and what it has to offer and when the right girl comes along you will know. their are plenty of things that you can do so you can meet girls so that shouldnt be and issue. just enjoy life and be sure that you will find the one ! good luck aphex xx
